Experience
Richard maintains a busy mixed family law practice, representing all parties on a regular basis and at all levels of court.
He has particular expertise in cases involving allegations of parental alienation, coercive and abusive conduct, sexual abuse, and cases involving intractable parental conduct. Richard often appears in the high court in matters involving an international element such as abduction.
In private law disputes between parents, Richard has appeared in numerous cases including those involving implacably hostile parents, case involving a change of residence of children and cases involving the relocation of children both within the jurisdiction and outside.
In relation to care proceedings, Richard has appeared in numerous cases involving abuse and non-accidental injury at all stages within proceedings frequently appearing in the High Court.
In financial proceedings, Richard is experienced at all stages of financial remedies, and always keeps a firm eye on the result. He is also interested in Direct Access work and welcomes cases of this nature.
His warm, friendly yet very firm approach is well regarded by both clients and judges alike. Richard prides himself on his quick response to client enquires and being accessible out of hours. Richard firmly believes that it is possible to combine the travails of family law proceedings with good humour.
