Caroline practises in all areas of the law relating to children, with particular expertise in complex child protection proceedings in the Family Court and the High Court and cases in involving issues of neurodivergence.
Experience
Caroline is regularly instructed in the most serious cases, including cases with allegations of life changing inflicted injuries, murder, poisoning and FII.
Caroline is known for coupling strong advocacy and clear and through advice with compassionate and sensitive client care.
Caroline is able to think creatively to find practical solutions in tricky situations. Caroline’s ability to digest and analyse the most complex medical evidence is well recognised.
Caroline has been praised for her ability to forensically examine the fine details of the evidence, whilst not losing sight of the wider issues in a case.
Caroline has a strong commitment to access to justice and she is a founding member of FLANC (Family Law Advice for the Neurodivergent Community) whose aim is to ensure that the family justice system properly meets the needs of neurodivergent adults, children and families. Along with her FLANC colleagues Caroline won the Innovation Champion at the Resolution Awards 2024 and Family Law Innovation of the Year at the Family Law Awards 2024.
Caroline was a contributor to the FJC Guidance on Neurodiversity in the Family Justice System for Practitioners which was published in January 2025. Caroline also regularly writes articles for professional journals and magazines and provides training to a range of professionals and professional bodies.
