Daniel is a specialist practitioner within public and private children proceedings and the court of protection. He has appeared as sole counsel in highly complex matters up to and including the High Court.
He is sought after for his ability to quickly build a rapport with clients as well as his sensitive and measured approach to cases. Daniel is empathetic, focussed, and skilled at achieving effective and pragmatic outcomes for clients.
His combined practice across children law, the court of protection and cases involving the inherent jurisdiction of the high court in relation to vulnerable adults make him particularly adept at advocating on behalf of vulnerable clients and those with learning difficulties.

Public Children
Within public children proceedings, Daniel has experience acting for local authorities, parents and children’s guardians at all stages of care proceedings. He has appeared in cases concerning non-accidental injuries, serious sexual and physical abuse, honour based violence, forced marriage and chronic neglect. He has experience of care proceedings that interconnect with summary return applications and engage the inherent jurisdiction of the High Court.
Private Children
Within private children proceedings Daniel has worked on cases involving multi-day fact finding hearings with serious allegations of domestic abuse (including physical abuse, sexual abuse, coercive and controlling behaviour) and parental alienation. He has particular experience in cases involving intractable contact disputes, including where a Guardian has been appointed, and relocation disputes.
Court of Protection
Daniel has developed an in-demand and varied practice within the court of protection and cases concerning vulnerable adults, building on a specialism he developed throughout undergraduate and post-graduate studies in issues relating to mental capacity law. Daniel received the joint highest first in his year at Oxford University for his dissertation exploring the competing interests of empowerment and paternalism within the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and he continues to draw upon this background in the cases in which he is instructed.

Before joining chambers
Daniel obtained a first in law at Oxford – ranking within the top ten in his year and receiving the joint highest mark in the subjects of jurisprudence and medical law. He later achieved a “distinction” on the Oxford Bachelor of Civil law. Daniel received Exeter College’s prize for the top results in law finals and was subsequently awarded the college’s most prestigious scholarship for full Bachelor of Civil Law funding.
Whilst at university he co-founded Oxford Students for the Human Rights Act and launched Patchwork, an underground club night donating all profits to a variety of charities, national and international. Daniel received the Gray’s Inn most prestigious award, the Bedingfield scholarship, for study on the Bar Vocational Course.
Prior to commencing pupillage, Daniel worked for a range of legal organisations including the Islington Law Centre, the Refugee Information Bus, and Refugee Legal Support – Athens, where he worked as a caseworker for nine months on asylum and family reunification applications. Daniel also spent a year as the judicial assistant to the Senior President of Tribunals, Sir Ernest Ryder. In 2019, Daniel won the LSE Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Moot with his mooting partner Rayan Fakhoury.
