Coram Chambers is pleased to announce that James Schofield has been admitted as Victorian Practising Counsel (Division A, Part 1) of the Victorian Bar, Australia.
The Victorian Bar is the professional association representing more than 2,200 barristers in Victoria. The Bar’s home is in the Courts precinct of Melbourne in the Owen Dixon Chambers, surrounded by chambers in other buildings.
For the duration of his sabbatical at the Victorian Bar this year, James will be a member of Patterson’s List working from Owen Dixon East at 205 William Street in Melbourne.
James started studying Australian law in 2017. He has been a member of the Australian Section of the International Commission of Jurists since 2021.
The Bar Council is an elected body of 21 elected barristers and is ultimately responsible for all initiatives, decisions, policies, and activities at the Bar. Bar Council acts as the Bar’s voice in law and policy reform and in the media and public interface.
Victorian Bar staff members are responsible for the bar’s operation, which includes the education program, compliance, member services, marketing, community engagement, and general administration.
