Yesterday, Coram Chambers had the privilege of delivering training for the London Boroughs’ Legal Alliance (LBLA), a successful collaborative partnership of local authority legal teams in the UK. Established in 2009, the LBLA is known for its innovative procurement practices and efficient strategies, delivering a demonstrable best-value service to clients and local residents.
As part of the training programme, Shiva Ancliffe KC and Barrister Caroline Croft led a training session for local authority solicitors on the designation of care and supervision orders.
Drawing on their extensive experience, they provided a comprehensive summary of the law and the leading authorities in this area. In addition, they worked through case studies and offered practical tips and advice for local authority lawyers when advising on designation.
The training session was well-attended, with participation from representatives of organisations across the London boroughs and beyond, including:
- London Borough of Bexley
- London Borough of Brent
- London Borough of Bromley
