Coram Chambers is thrilled to announce that FLANC (Family Law Advice for the Neurodivergent Community), co-founded by Coram barrister Caroline Croft, has been honoured with the Family Law Award for Family Law Innovation of the Year at the prestigious Family Law Awards, held on Wednesday, 20th November.

This accolade recognises FLANC’s pioneering efforts in creating an inclusive legal environment for the neurodivergent community, focusing on removing barriers to participation in family proceedings and fostering dispute resolution and adds to their Resolution’s Innovation Champion 2024 Award at the Resolution awards on 20 September 2024.

In addition to this remarkable achievement, FLANC received a ‘Highly Commended’ mention in the Family Law Community Interaction Award. While Dads House, a valued partner of Coram Chambers and known for their commitment to ensuring children’s welfare post-divorce, achieved the award, FLANC’s dedication to collaboration within the legal community was recognised as a significant contribution to family law practices.

FLANC, a collective of expert lawyers, is passionately dedicated to increasing awareness and driving change through education and collaboration across the legal sector. Their focus on the neurodivergent community aims to ensure equal access to justice, addressing often-overlooked barriers that can hinder participation in legal processes.

“We are honoured to receive this award, which highlights the importance of creating an inclusive legal framework for everyone, especially those in the neurodivergent community. We believe that ensuring equal access to justice is essential, and we will continue to advocate for necessary changes within the system.” – Caroline Croft

Caroline Croft expressed her gratitude for the recognition, stating, “We are honoured to receive this award, which highlights the importance of creating an inclusive legal framework for everyone, especially those in the neurodivergent community. We believe that ensuring equal access to justice is essential, and we will continue to advocate for necessary changes within the system.”

The connection between FLANC and Dads House is noteworthy, as both organisations focus on prioritising children’s needs amid family disputes. Dads House, under the leadership of legal director Simon Bruce, operates pro bono family law clinics on Wednesdays and Fridays, providing invaluable support to families in need. Coram Chambers is proud to collaborate with Dads House, especially during initiatives like Pro Bono Week, demonstrating a shared commitment to serving the community.

As FLANC continues to break new ground in family law, Coram Chambers reaffirms its dedication to advocacy, education, and innovation, ensuring that all individuals, particularly the neurodivergent community, have the opportunity to access the family justice system effectively.
