In a daring display of commitment to social justice, Ruben Collings and Freya Clarke, clerks from Coram Chambers, are gearing up for an exhilarating skydive on the 6th of July. This bold venture aims to raise an impressive £1,000 in support of the London Legal Support Trust (LLST), an organisation dedicated to ensuring that access to legal advice is a right upheld for everyone, irrespective of their circumstances.
Both Ruben and Freya are acutely aware of the challenges facing individuals seeking legal assistance, particularly during these trying economic times. They recognise that the work conducted by LLST is vital in providing essential funding to free legal advice agencies, which serve as lifelines for those grappling with the cost-of-living crisis.
“Taking this leap is about more than just the thrill of free-falling; it’s our way of standing up for those in need,” said Ruben. Freya added, “We are passionate about fighting for justice, and we hope our efforts encourage others to contribute to this noble cause.”
The London Legal Support Trust was established in 2003 to address the pressing issue of insufficient funding for legal advice services. Over the years, with the generous backing of the legal community, LLST has successfully raised millions of pounds, helping to bolster legal advice centres across London and the South East.
As the date of their skydive approaches, Ruben and Freya are eager to rally support from the community. Every donation, regardless of size, will contribute significantly to reaching their fundraising goal and ultimately aid in enhancing access to justice for those who need it most.
