This week, Coram Chambers proudly co-sponsored a significant event on coercive control in private law proceedings, held at The Meadow Suite, Reading University.
The sold-out conference, organised by Only Mums & Dads (OMD) Training, featured an impactful keynote presentation from Coram Chambers’ joint head, Mark Twomey KC, and fellow Coram Chambers silk, Shiva Ancliffe KC.
Attendees included a wide array of family law professionals eager to deepen their understanding of how courts approach accusations of coercive control in family law cases, with a focus on domestic abuse dynamics.
Mark Twomey and Shiva Ancliffe’s presentation, titled “Accusations of Coercive Control in Private Family Law Proceedings – How the Courts are Considering and Dealing with Domestic Abuse,” examined how allegations of coercive control are assessed and managed in private family proceedings.
