Join Coram Chambers for this very special webinar for LGBT+ parents looking into surrogacy and adoption with Bianca Jackson and Kieran Pugh.

In celebration of Pride month, Coram Chambers‘ invites you to “We are Family: Surrogacy and Adoption for LGBTQ+ parents”, a free webinar with family law experts, Dr Bianca Jackson and Kieran Pugh.

This webinar will cover:

• Surrogacy in the UK and abroad

• Parental orders: what are they and why do you need one?

• Applying for parental orders

• Private versus public adoption

• Children in the care system

• The adoption process and applying for an adoption order

Dr Bianca Jackson is the head of Coram Chambers’ Alternative Family practice group and has a particular proficiency in surrogacy law, assisted reproduction, and legal parenthood. She has acted in some of the most cutting-edge cases in this complex area of law, regularly appearing in the High Court, and has been instructed as an expert to provide advice in proceedings.

Kieran Pugh is a specialist children law practitioner acting in child protection matters involving serious injury/abuse to a child. Kieran has represented prospective adopters in their applications to adopt where there has been legal challenge by the natural parent. He has represented foster carers and children’s guardian’s in cases where the foster carer is seeking to adopt a child already placed in their care as temporary carers. More recently he has been involved in a case of a foster-to-adopt placement, examining the legal process by which this has been approved and the legal basis upon which it is now being challenged. Kieran has managed these cases through all stages of proceedings in the Family and High Court and the Court of Appeal.

This seminar is ideal for lay clients and/or LGBT+ families interested in going down the surrogacy and adoption route.
