Coram is thrilled to announce that Maya Achan and Lucy Taylor have accepted offers of pupillage, starting October 2023.
About Lucy
Lucy studied law at the University of Oxford, where she was a scholar, and was awarded two Examinations Prizes for achieving the top results in her College. Lucy then received a Cassel Scholarship from Lincoln’s Inn to study the Bar Course at the Inns of Court College of Advocacy. During her time studying the Bar Course, Lucy volunteered as a helpline call-taker for Family Lives and volunteered as a teaching assistant at Frank Barnes Primary School for Deaf Children. Lucy also enjoys tutoring state school students on Oxbridge admissions and the Law National Aptitude Test.
About Maya
Maya studied History at the University of Cambridge, where she was a scholar of her college.
Following university, Maya worked as a Mental Health Support Worker and a Domestic Violence Caseworker for Refuge.
Maya was awarded the Edmund James Lawson and Bedingfield scholarships from Gray’s Inn to study the GDL and BPTC, in which she achieved Distinctions.
Whilst studying on the BPTC, Maya taught debating in HMP Pentonville, and delivered lessons to secondary school students as part of the Schools Consent Project. Additionally, she is a community panel member for the Youth Offending Service in Islington.
Prior to starting pupillage, Maya spent time working as a Legal Assistant and volunteering abroad.
