HH Philip Waller CBE, a Door Tenant at Coram Chambers, has been deeply involved in the review and update of the Family Justice Council’s guide on Sorting Out Finances on Divorce.
This updated guide, last published in 2016, represents a significant undertaking for the Family Justice Council Financial Needs Working Group. We are grateful for all the dedicated work that has been put into updating the guidance, particularly to HH Philip Waller CBE.
The revised Sorting Out Finances on Divorce guidance is now available on the Family Justice Council website under Guidance, Financial Needs, and Litigants in Person in the Family Justice System. We’ve also attached the guidance below for your reference.

HH Philip Waller CBE brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this endeavour. His outstanding 26-year judicial career in family law and practice demonstrates his profound dedication to this field, showcasing his expertise in financial remedy proceedings and public and private law children cases.
Having served as the Senior District Judge of the Family Division from 2004 to 2013, presiding over complex and sensitive financial and children cases, Philip has provided invaluable guidance on changes in practice and procedure.
Since retiring from judicial office in February 2020, HH Philip Waller CBE has continued to contribute as a private FDR judge, exemplifying his ongoing commitment to the legal community.
