We hope you will all join us in welcoming His Honour Jonathan Furness KC to Coram Chambers. We are delighted to have Jonathan on board, he brings a wealth of experience and will join us as an Associate Tenant.

His Honour Jonathan Furness KC was called to the Bar at Gray’s Inn in 1979.

He completed a first six months pupillage in the chambers of Louis Blom-Cooper QC before returning to Wales and the Chambers that became 30, Park Place.

Initially he had a mixed common law practice but eventually became a family specialist taking silk as such in 2003. His work as a junior and in silk involved all aspects of family law. He was Head of the Family team and subsequently Head of Chambers at 30 Park Place.

He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1998, a Recorder in 1999 and a Deputy High Court Judge in 2008. In 2015 he accepted an appointment as a Circuit Judge and in 2020 became the Designated Family Judge for Cardiff and South East Wales overseeing family justice for half the population of Wales.

He was the lead Judge for the Financial Remedies Court in South East Wales from 2018 until his retirement from the full time bench in November 2023.

He sits as a private FDR Judge.
