About
Hannah is described by solicitors as “warm, approachable and thorough”, known for her straight-forward communication style, strategic skill and pragmatism.
She has appeared in a number of significant children cases before the Court of Appeal and is regularly instructed in complex cases including those with allegations of serious abuse, intractable disputes, international abduction and relocation.
Hannah has significant experience in working with clients with vulnerabilities including learning disabilities.
Experience
Hannah has particular expertise in international relocation and abduction cases, as well as in intractable and high-conflict disputes, having frequently acted for 16.4 Guardians. She regularly represents parents where there are allegations of serious domestic abuse.
Hannah undertakes a wide variety of financial remedies work including where there are issues of jurisdiction, business valuation and pension disputes. She has acted in financial remedy appeals to the High Court, complex enforcement proceedings, and in applications under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989.
Hannah regularly handles complex care proceedings including cases with an international element or where there are allegations of non-accidental injury, sexual abuse, or fabricated induced illness.
She has an interest in developing family justice policy and as Vice-Chair of the Society of Labour Lawyers has worked alongside organisations such as the Centre for Justice Innovation to seek improved access for families to the Family Drug and Alcohol Court. Hannah has also worked in the area of historic institutional child abuse, acting for a high-profile survivor’s group on the formation of a redress scheme, as well as in cases challenging local authority decision-making or alleged human rights breaches.
Hannah recently finished an eight-year term as safeguarding governor of a local primary school. In 2018, Hannah was shortlisted for Family Law Young Barrister of the Year.
