About
Maya joined Coram as a tenant in October 2024, after successfully completing her pupilage under the supervision of Victoria Roberts, Tosin Oguntayo and Kieran Pugh.
Maya frequently represents clients in children cases, including those concerning serious allegations of domestic abuse and coercive control. Further, Maya has successfully represented applicants to obtain emergency injunctions and final orders in Family Law Act proceedings. Maya has assisted in cases across the spectrum of family law, including those in the High Court and Court of Appeal, cases in the Court of Protection, and those with an international element.
Maya is committed to supporting access to the Bar, and provides mentorship to aspiring barristers from underrepresented backgrounds through Bridging the Bar. Further, Maya regularly offers supervision and advice to a number of pro bono initiatives.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Maya worked as a mental health support worker at Hestia, a domestic violence caseworker at Refuge, and as a legal assistant for a busy firm.
